Calendar quarters explained
See which months belong to Q1, Q2, Q3 and Q4.
The four calendar quarters
Q1 is January through March, Q2 is April through June, Q3 is July through September, and Q4 is October through December.
Quarter lengths
Quarters do not contain equal numbers of days. Q1 varies with leap years, while the other calendar quarters contain 91 or 92 days.
Calendar and fiscal quarters
A company whose fiscal year starts in another month labels its quarters differently. Check the fiscal year-end before comparing quarterly reports.
